Amanda Seyfried shared adorable pictures of her and her dog Finn as a pawsome way to celebrate the pup’s birthday.
It was a Sunday when Amanda Seyfried’s canine companion Finn received a birthday greeting from his loving owner. Through an honorary post on Instagram, Amanda celebrated Finn’s 15th birthday. She shared a series of throwback photos showing their playfulness and journey through the years.

The birthday dump was also in honor of Finn’s role in Amanda’s life, especially during the days she was battling anxiety. The post included pictures of Amanda’s rescue dog with a coffee mug while resting under the sunlight, the two of them hanging out at the beach, and Finn looking goofy while wearing a blonde wig and different costumes.
Finn celebrating his 15th birthday is an addition to the many milestones that he and his owner achieved over the years. In 2017, Amanda introduced Finn to her newborn baby, emphasizing the dog’s significant role in her family life. In 2022, the rescue dog also became the talk of the town after Amanda gave him a shout-out during her Emmy Awards acceptance speech.
As Finn enters his senior years, Amanda shared that it’s been difficult seeing her dog grow old. Still, she tries to get through it and enjoy the present moment with her pup.
Why and How Amanda Seyfried Got Her Dog Finn
We know Amanda Seyfried from her iconic role Karen Smith in the all-time favorite movie Mean Girls. Since then, the actress has been offered high-profile projects and lead roles in popular films like Mamma Mia! and Jennifer’s Body. But the truth is, it wasn’t always easy for the actress. During the hard days, her rescue dog Finn was there.

Amanda met the Australian Shepherd pup on the set of Big Love, her HBO show that ran from 2006-2011. After that, the actress felt like Finn was destined to be her loyal companion; she needed him to keep her emotions under control. According to Amanda, there were no constants in the life she had in her early twenties, but Finn’s arrival brought solitude and sense of independence.
Amanda even made sure that Finn could be with her on set, whenever possible. When the rescue pup isn’t at work with Amanda, he’s relaxing at the farmhouse that the actress shares with her husband. Their farm is also home to other rescue animals, including a white donkey called Gus.

Other Female Celebrities with Rescue Dogs
Besides Amanda Seyfried, there are other female celebrities who have lent their homes and voices to help save dogs in need. These celebrities believe that rescue dogs are deserving of second chance and true love. More importantly, they’re as loyal, loving, and intelligent as purchased pets.

- Miley Cyrus and her rescue dog Angel: As they say, not all angels have wings. Miley’s Angel is a pit bull that she adopted a couple of months after her pit mix Mary Jane passed away. Angel slept on a concrete inside a shelter for three months before she finally made it to her new home.
- Jennifer Aniston and her rescue dog Lord Chesterfield: In 2020, Friends alum Jennifer Aniston welcomed a new addition to her family: Lord Chesterfield. The pup was adopted from Wagmor Pets, a non-profit organization focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs. Lord Chesterfield joined two other rescue dogs, Sophie and Clyde. And speaking of Jennifer’s other rescue dogs, the actress recently announced that she will be releasing a children’s book with a main character based on Clyde.

I love seeing celebrities who champion animal welfare and show gratefulness for rescue dogs. After knowing that Amanda’s rescue dog comes with her on set when possible, it became much clearer: our pups mere presence is comforting. Also, isn’t it heartwarming that our dogs can comfort us without fully knowing how to do it or why we need it? In many ways, they help us live lives with better mental health.
