Do you remember those hilarious moments on TV where many house pets of reporters would barge and hog over the camera? These were the days when everyone was still working from home due to the COVID lockdown. But what if it happens to you in your workplace while you’re doing your job? This is what happened to Houston’s KPRC 2 News Station Khambrell Marshall, the station’s seasoned weatherman.
The station welcomed an unexpected guest who would steal the spotlight from Marshall, and he is no other than Angel, a small, adaptable, and adorable dog. Angel was brought by the Houston Humane Society to be featured in a segment to promote shelter dogs who are looking for a new home.Â

It was a typical day at work for Marshall as he delivered his regular weather forecast. It was in the midst of his report about Houston’s scorching temperatures when Angel saw the chance to wander around the place while unknowingly hogging the camera with his cute and likely, random appearance.
It’s funny how a dog could randomly show up at a weather news segment, but yes, he actually slipped away from his handler to roam around the studio. It was then that Angel’s curious nature led him to the weatherman’s set, completely unaware of the live broadcast taking place in the room.

As soon as Marshall spotted the dog, he handled it gracefully with a little bit of humor. Marshall acknowledged Angel’s presence and crouched down to scoop the Angel in his arms. He then showed the audience his new co-host and asked Angel whether he wanted to do the weather segment with him.
The camera zoomed Angel in, and with that, Marshall reminded the viewers who are pet owners about being mindful of the heat and taking extra precautions to keep their pets safe for the summer. He told pet owners around Houston to keep their pets indoors and always give them fresh and clean water.

Who is Angel?
This scene quickly became viral as people couldn’t get enough of Marshall’s interaction with his unexpected guest-turned-co-host. The viral clip garnered over 360,000 views as it was shared across different social media platforms. Even Marshall shared it on his official Facebook page with the caption that the saying of don’t work with children or animals turned out for the better.
Truly, this encounter has turned out for the better, especially for Angel, who is up for adoption. All of it fell into place as, after the weather segment, it was time to introduce Angel and get her rightful moment in the spotlight. In the next segment, Marshall interviewed one of the volunteers from the Houston Humane Society who had brought Angel to the studio.Â

The volunteer shared that Angel was surrendered by her previous owner as his new residence doesn’t allow pets. Despite this, their organization took Angel in and did their best to give her a comfortable life while awaiting adoption. Throughout the interview, Angel behaves while the volunteer convinces the audience that Angel would be a wonderful addition to their family.
Angel was actually adopted once by a family, but sadly, they had to return him to the shelter after the family discovered that he couldn’t get along with their pet cat. Just days after, Angel was lucky enough to be adopted by another family — this time, no cats or anything that could disrupt the adoption. Everything fell exactly into place, and Angel was able to get a family that would fully commit to him.

From The Club
I can’t help but be sad for Angel as two of his owners have left him. But despite that, at least he’s got a family who will choose him this time. I know shelter dogs are said to have a second chance at life, but with Angel, it’s actually the third time. Well, the third time’s really a charm, all thanks to Angel’s viral moment.
