A Visit To Spotlight Shelter Dogs

In California, shelter volunteer Viveca regularly visits local shelters to give overlooked dogs a chance at finding homes. Even when she can’t adopt, she shares their stories in hopes they’ll be placed with fosters or rescues. On one of those visits, she met a pit bull named Mochi — a dog who would change her life forever.

The Pittie At The End Of The Row

Mochi was sitting quietly in the very last kennel. While many dogs barked and begged for attention, Mochi’s goofy yet gentle expression immediately caught Viveca’s eye. She decided to take him home, and within just a couple of days, he had fully settled in. From the start, his silly personality shone through.

A Bond Beyond Measure

“He’s always been super goofy, super sweet,” Viveca said. Mochi quickly became her constant companion, making her laugh with his antics and melting her heart with his affection. Their bond grew so deep that she describes it as “beyond galaxies.”

Inspiring A Mission

Adopting Mochi also gave Viveca a new purpose. She became a passionate advocate for pit bulls and other shelter dogs who need second chances. “All they want is love and attention, and it comes back tenfold,” she explained.

A Life Transformed

For Viveca, Mochi is more than just a rescue dog — he’s family. His goofy smile and loyal nature remind her every day why she chose him. In return, Mochi’s story now inspires her to keep helping other dogs like him find the homes they deserve.
