In San Diego, California, a blind husky named Figuro was discovered tied up outside, covered in bald spots, scars, and old injuries from being picked on by other dogs. Despite his heartbreaking condition, rescuers at The Animal Pad were struck by how gentle and sweet he was from the very beginning.
Healing With Care

Once in rescue care, Figuro received proper nutrition, soothing baths, and veterinary treatment. Specialists discovered he had an autoimmune disease contributing to his bald patches, but with medication and love, his fur grew back, his skin healed, and his body began to thrive. Through it all, he remained patient and affectionate, even sitting calmly for daily eye drops.
Learning To Be A Dog Again

When a volunteer foster mom took him home, Figuro had to learn everything from scratch — from navigating a house as a blind dog to understanding that not all dogs would hurt him. At first, he was nervous around his foster sister, but with her persistence, trust began to build. Couch cuddles, beach walks, and gentle encouragement gave him the confidence he needed.
A Beautiful Breakthrough

The moment Figuro finally initiated play with his foster sister was a milestone. It proved he was no longer the broken dog found tied up and afraid, but a happy, goofy pup ready to bond and enjoy life.

Figuro is still in San Diego, searching for a forever home or long-term foster. His foster mom adores him but continues to foster other dogs in need, so she hopes someone will step up for Figuro. With continued TLC, this once-abandoned husky is ready to give his forever family endless love.
